Sustained Protein Release
Protein release is key to how effectively it is digested, how readily available it is to our bodies and can influence intolerance and negative side effects such as inflammation.
In their native form, milk proteins can be broken into two categories; whey and casein. Whey proteins, known as ‘quick proteins’, usually leave the stomach relatively undigested, where they can have unwanted consequence in the gut, such as intolerance and potential for not being broken down to amino acids for absorption. Haelen® prevents this ‘quick’ effect meaning protein is more fully digested, generating greater bioavailability and less intolerance.
Sustained protein release has strong alignment to optimised sports recovery and muscle repair, due to prolonged amino acid supply entering the body and supporting muscle repair and growth. Also to seniors' nutrition, where it is widely acknowledged our ability to digest and absorb nutrients diminishes as we age because of increased transit times of food through our gut.
”The ability of Haelen® to slow down and sustain the release of proteins perfectly aligns to target sports recovery and advanced health and nutrition products for adults.
